About Steve Deeley

Steve Deeley is a writer, naturalist and wildlife photographer based in Wiltshire, UK. Much of his work features native British wildlife shot in the wild, although for Steve, "wildlife" can mean anything from bugs to badgers and finches to foxes.

Steve says:

"In the rush of our daily lives, we often lose our connection to the natural world that can be hidden right alongside us. I started with an interest in photography, but as I've discovered the stories and lives of the creatures and wild places we share our world with, I've come to care passionately about the natural world we all borrow for a short time. These days I am a naturalist who tries to convey his deep love for the natural world in both word and pictures.

I've been privileged to work with some of the UK's rarest and most special species. As such, I subscribe to the naturalist's code of conduct: I take only photos, make only words, and both the subject and its habitat are left as I found them - undisturbed, and undamaged. If my presence risks disturbance or damage, I walk away."
